Baraati Collection — Wedding Guest Wear by Peeli Dori

A "baraati" is a member of the baraat — the groom's wedding procession — and by extension, anyone celebrating as part of the wider wedding party. This collection is built specifically for that role: festive enough to stand out at a multi-day wedding, but priced and styled for someone who isn't the bride and doesn't need bridal-level formality. The range spans silk organza and chiffon sarees, silk chanderi kurta sets, an anarkali with organza dupatta, gold metallic gota blouses, and even a run of embroidered silk chanderi potli bags for finishing an outfit.

The palette stays soft and celebratory rather than heavy — blush pink, pastel pink, powder blue, ivory, mellow yellow, and grape purple recur throughout, all colours that photograph well across multiple wedding functions without competing with the bride's own outfit choices. Prices span the widest range of any Peeli Dori collection, from embroidered potli bags at around ₹8,900 up to a Valentino pink chanderi silk lehenga at ₹69,500, so Baraati works whether you're shopping for one accessory or a full outfit for a multi-day wedding.

How to Style a Baraati Collection Outfit

Because weddings in India often run across several functions, the Baraati Collection is designed to be mixed and matched — a chanderi kurta set for a daytime haldi, a soft organza saree for a mehendi, and a richer piece for the reception. Pair the pastel sarees with a gold gota blouse and a matching potli bag for a coordinated look without over-planning; the anarkali suits itself with statement earrings and minimal other jewellery, since the organza dupatta already adds enough movement to the outfit.

When to Wear Baraati Collection Pieces

This collection is built for the full arc of a multi-day Indian wedding — haldi, mehendi, sangeet, and the wedding ceremony itself as a guest rather than a member of the immediate family. The lighter chiffon and organza sarees suit daytime functions, while the richer chanderi kurta sets and the top-tier lehenga work well for an evening sangeet or reception. The potli bags and gota blouses are practical additions if you're building multiple outfits from pieces you already own.

Frequently Asked Questions about the Baraati Collection

What does "Baraati" mean?: A baraati is a member of the groom's wedding procession, or more broadly, a guest celebrating as part of the wedding party. This collection is designed for exactly that role.
What is the price range for the Baraati Collection?: Prices range from around ₹8,900 for accessories like embroidered potli bags up to ₹69,500 for the most detailed lehenga set, covering everything from a single accessory to a full wedding-function outfit. Current pricing is shown in the Popular Products panel alongside this text.
What kinds of pieces are in the Baraati Collection?: The collection includes silk organza and chiffon sarees, silk chanderi kurta sets, an anarkali with organza dupatta, gota blouses, and embroidered potli bags.
Is the Baraati Collection suitable for multiple wedding functions?: Yes, it's designed specifically for that purpose — with lighter pieces for daytime functions like haldi and mehendi, and richer pieces for evening functions like sangeet and reception.
Are the potli bags sold separately from the outfits?: Yes, the embroidered silk chanderi potli bags are sold individually and can be paired with any saree or lehenga, not just pieces from the Baraati Collection.
Is the Baraati Collection suitable for the bride herself?: Baraati is designed primarily for wedding guests rather than the bride. For bridal wear, see our dedicated Bridal Collection.
How is Baraati different from the Gulabi Collection?: Baraati spans a wider colour palette beyond pink — including powder blue, ivory, mellow yellow, and grape purple — and is framed specifically around dressing for a multi-day wedding as a guest, while Gulabi focuses on pink tones across everyday and festive occasions.
Does Peeli Dori ship the Baraati Collection across India?: Yes, we ship every order across India with careful packaging, and international shipping is available on request.
How many outfits should I plan for a multi-day wedding?: Most guests plan for three to four looks across a typical Indian wedding — haldi, mehendi, sangeet, and the wedding or reception itself. The Baraati Collection is priced to make building that full rotation manageable in one place.
Can I mix Baraati pieces with items from other Peeli Dori collections?: Yes, the collection's neutral-leaning pastel palette — ivory, powder blue, blush pink — is designed to coordinate easily with pieces from collections like Gulabi or Saheli.
What should I pack from the Baraati Collection for a destination wedding?: For a multi-day destination wedding, a good starting point is one lighter organza saree or chanderi kurta set for daytime functions, one richer piece for the sangeet or reception, and a gota blouse and potli bag as versatile accessories that can be reused across looks.
Can the Baraati Collection be gift-wrapped for a wedding guest?: Yes, Peeli Dori offers gift packaging on request, which pairs especially well with the collection's embroidered potli bags if you're picking up a piece as a gift for someone attending a wedding as a baraati.
Are Baraati Collection pieces available in plus sizes?: Sizing availability varies by individual piece; check the size chart and available sizes listed on each product page, and reach out to our team if you need help finding the right fit within the collection.
