Paro Collection — Timeless Romance in Ethnic Wear by Peeli Dori

The Paro Collection takes its name and its mood from one of Indian cinema's most enduring romantic heroines — refined, quietly dramatic, and never trying too hard. It's Peeli Dori's most premium-leaning edit, built around silk organza, silk chanderi, and tissue silk, with a handful of pieces in French chiffon for those who want something with more movement. The palette favours richness over brightness: ivory, gold, black, mint green, brown, and deep red dominate, with hand embroidery and zardozi work adding texture without overwhelming the base fabric.

Sarees make up the bulk of the collection, but Paro also includes a small edit of lehenga sets and one anarkali set for those who want a more structured silhouette for a wedding function. Because the collection sits at a higher price point — roughly ₹21,500 to ₹36,500 — every piece is finished with more deliberate detail: satin borders, tissue silk zari work, and hand embroidery that's dense enough to photograph well but restrained enough to still feel elegant rather than costume-like. This is the collection to reach for when the occasion calls for something that reads as considered rather than trend-driven.

How to Style a Paro Collection Piece

Paro sarees are built to be the statement piece of an outfit, so keep accessories minimal and let the fabric and embroidery do the work — a single pair of statement earrings or a maangtika is usually enough. Tissue silk and organza pieces in ivory and gold pair beautifully with a contrast black or dark green blouse for evening receptions, while the deeper tones like brown and mint green suit a tonal blouse for a more understated wedding-guest look. If you're wearing one of the lehenga sets, keep the dupatta draped loosely over one shoulder rather than pinned tightly — it lets the embroidery on the border catch the light as you move.

When to Wear a Paro Collection Piece

Paro is best suited to functions where you want the outfit itself to carry the moment — a wedding reception, a formal dinner, or a sangeet where the lighting and setting call for richer fabrics. The ivory and gold pieces photograph especially well for daytime wedding functions with natural light, while the black and deep red sarees are built for evening events under warmer, dimmer lighting. Because the collection sits at a higher price point than some of Peeli Dori's other edits, it's also a popular choice for brides selecting outfits for pre-wedding functions like the reception or sangeet, rather than everyday festive wear.

Frequently Asked Questions about the Paro Collection

What fabrics are used in the Paro Collection?: Paro is built primarily around silk organza, silk chanderi, and tissue silk, with a few pieces in French chiffon. These fabrics were chosen for their drape and their ability to carry fine zari and hand embroidery.
What is the price range for the Paro Collection?: Pieces in the Paro Collection are priced between roughly ₹21,500 and ₹36,500, reflecting the premium fabrics and detailed handwork used across the range. Current pricing is shown in the Popular Products panel alongside this text.
Is the Paro Collection suitable for a wedding reception?: Yes, the richer tones — black, gold, and deep red — along with the tissue silk and zardozi pieces are especially suited to receptions and other formal evening wedding functions.
Does the Paro Collection include lehenga sets?: Yes, alongside its saree-led range, Paro includes a small edit of gold organza lehenga sets and one anarkali set for those who want a more structured silhouette.
How should I care for tissue silk and organza sarees?: We recommend dry cleaning for all Paro Collection pieces to preserve the zari and hand embroidery. Store folded with tissue paper between layers, away from direct sunlight, to prevent the metallic thread from tarnishing.
Does Peeli Dori ship the Paro Collection across India?: Yes, we ship every order across India with careful packaging, and international shipping is available on request.
Is the Paro Collection suitable for brides?: Yes, several pieces in the Paro Collection are chosen by brides for pre-wedding functions such as the sangeet and reception. For the wedding day itself, also see our dedicated Bridal Collection.
Does the Paro Collection include matching blouses?: Most sarees in the Paro Collection are sold with a coordinating unstitched blouse piece; some pieces are also available with a stitched blouse — check the individual product page for details.
What is zardozi work, and which Paro pieces feature it?: Zardozi is a traditional Indian metal-thread embroidery technique using gold and silver threads. Several tissue silk sarees in the Paro Collection feature zardozi detailing along the border and pallu for added richness.
How is the Paro Collection different from the Tara Collection?: While both collections share premium fabrics like silk organza and chanderi, Paro sits at a slightly higher price point and leans into richer, more formal tones like black, gold, and deep red, whereas Tara covers a broader range of everyday festive occasions in lighter fabrics like georgette and mulmul. If you're deciding between the two, think of Paro as the choice for a single standout evening event and Tara as the more versatile everyday festive pick.
